I was very fortunate this week to meet up with our old friend Alberique Bichot and even luckier to be able to taste a range of their 2018 vintage from various properties. The tasting re-kindled my passion for Burgundy. The wines were stunning and served as a great reminder of how skilled winemakers use terroir to their advantage. In my opinion, there is nowhere that produces such elegance and sophistication from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir than Burgundy. Star find for me was a simple (in Burgundian terms !) Macon Blanc, Milly-Lamartine, but I’m still dreaming about the Corton Charlemagne and Echezeaux. Well done team Bichot and well done Burgundy.
